Nothing comes for free in life.

  • Some business directories might ask you to link back to them in exchange, which is generally known as a reciprocal link. Only do this if you genuinely feel that it is worth it. Linking to “dodgy” websites can harm your ranking in search engine results.

  • Other business directories ask you for a payment to get listed or to get an enhanced listing. In most cases this is not really worth it and a standard listing is just fine. Only pay if you really think that it will pay back.

  • You will start receiving some sales phone calls from large business directories and their highly skilled sales personnel. These sales people will tell you anything to sell their premium listings. Generally speaking it is not worth it and unless you have a very very good reason for it, never ever pay.
